In such a time like no other, we put together this video to celebrate our multicultural communities, to share with you how we’re doing in creativity and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, health and happiness, community service, environmental performance and more.
In this video, new invention, digital art, creative poem, music, dance, painting, drawing, handcraft, short film, short story and more are all encouraged.
We are very glad that we’ve received videos from the groups and individuals with variation in race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, language, religion and geographical area with a wide range of interests, backgrounds and experiences; we are very impressed by the grassroots creativity and skills from you.
From the art and culture angle, this video is a combination of some selected submissions related with fighting COVID-19, showing our stories, values, cultures, customs, traditions, etc.
Appreciation certificates will be presented on December 18, 2020; will send the online meeting link when it gets closer.
We are all in this together, from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s daily briefings, Sophie Trudeau and Melania Trump’s sharing of their personal experiences with COVID-19, the warm-hearted greetings and messages from our three-level government officials, to our sister organizations and our video contributors; from North America to Oceania, from Europe to Asia and Africa, we truly are all in this together.
People are usually awesome to one another including in a crisis.
It’s basic humanity.
It’s one of the best and most hopeful things about people.
Our planet earth is a place where we support each other.
We know how lucky we all are to call this planet home, and we will never stop working on making this planet better for everyone.
In such a time like no other, have you ever felt tired? Have you ever felt lonely? Have you ever tried to hide yourself and cry? In such a time like no other, I cried, laughed, I felt tired, scared, I worried about who I would lose and who was afraid of losing me…
Sometimes bad things have to happen before good things can.
Destiny lets us meet each other and participate in each other’s lives.
Even when we need to isolate, separate or quarantine, we always support each other.
We dream of your dreams.
We love what you love.
We share laughter and tears.
We imagine together, sing together, dance together.
We open minds, open hearts, open arms.
We open our doors to those in need.
We help each other because we can.
We are not afraid of the past, we are not afraid of the future, we are focusing on doing our parts in the present.
All love to you, from WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society.
In this pandemic, we sincerely hope this video can reach you as we do care about you.
We don't know how many days this crisis still has to run, or how dark the days might get; but we do know that we’re all in this together, and we’ll get through this together.
On behalf of WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society, I send my deepest appreciation to all the frontline workers, health professionals, community service contributors and all volunteers that are delegated in community capacity building.
Heartfelt thanks to all video contributors, we couldn’t do any of this work without you. Thank you for your unwavering support; and I apologize for those submissions were not selected in this video, however, we always have the coming opportunities.
All your contributions will not be forgotten as we keep working together to build a better future.
We will always Remember.
We thank you all.
