(By Sophia, Poster by Andy) For celebrating Culture Days, for encouraging multicultural creative works and lightening up community spirit, WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society sincerely invites you to take the time out of your busy schedule to attend the following 4 free Multicultural events:

  1. Richmond Celebration BBQ 2019 (5-6pm);

  2. The 5th Annual Canada Multicultural Creative Works Festival 2019 (6-8pm)

Time: Saturday, September 28, 2019, 5-8pm

3. The Giving Heart Thanksgiving Dinner

Time: Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 @3:30-5:30pm

The previous events have received great support from Prime Ministers, Senators, Members of Parliament, Governor of British Columbia, MLAs, Mayors, City Councillors, as well as businesses, organizations, media friends, and people from all walks of life. This year's event, we have received many congratulations, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier John Horgan.

Call for Submission for

The 5th Annual

Canada Multicultural Creative Works Festival 2019

Time: August 1, 2019 - September 15, 2019

Theme: share a good deed to the world

Who can submit: everyone

What to create: anything related with “good deeds”, any story, any person, or write about a place, movie, food, sport, culture, customs, traditions, etc.

New invention, new technology, digital art, creative poems, essays, short stories, drama, music, dances, plays, paintings, drawing, hand-crafts, and whatever you name are all encouraged.

Must be original creative works. Each submission preferably 500 words if it is in words; if created in other languages rather than English, please provide an English translation if possible. Submit Here!

Please note: WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society reserves the right to use the submitted creative works for publication purpose, and reserves the right to edit the works to match the theme. The copyrights of the original creative works are still belonging to the authors, writers and translators if applicable.

How to submit: one creative work for each; submit with the entry form, or email to sophia@wsisc.com.

​Submit fee: free; each writer will get a gift book as appreciation; submitter is responsible for their postage if mailing needed.

The 5th Annual

Canada Multicultural Creative Works Festival 2019

Creative Works Sharing:

Selected 30 creative works will be read/performed in various languages.

This event is free to public, cross-cultural learning and understanding groups and individuals, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and youth (above age 5), families and kids, military and veterans, immigrants and refugees, people with disabilities, poets and writers, artists and entrepreneurs, or any individual who is passionate about creative works, all are welcome.

This event will be a very good opportunity to:

  • Connect people with a wide range of interests, backgrounds and experiences;

  • Increase Sense of belonging and responsibility to our communities;

  • Better understanding for groups of people and individuals with variation in race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, language, religion, geographical area and more;

  • Share knowledge and develop grassroots creativity and leadership skills;

  • Celebrate diversity and various Canadian cultures, traditions, and customs of the world;

  • Appreciate the professionals and volunteers are delegated in community capacity building.

Original creative works, delicious BBQ, beautiful music, singing and dancing, and much more...You are invited to come and enjoy the festival with us!
