Celebrate Asian Heritage Month - South Asian Poetry Reading Welcomes You
To celebrate Asian Heritage Month in Richmond, WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society, together with Richmond Public Library will organize Celebrate Asian Heritage Month - South Asian Poetry Reading event. Twenty selected poets and artists from local communities have joined forces to present a series of poem recitation and cultural performances. Any Asian language is encouraged for this event. If you read a poem in an Asian language, a brief English translation will be provided to help you to understand. Your ethnic costumes are encouraged to wear to this event.
Create a poem (South Asian themed, ideally no more than 500 words), or select a classic poem from South Asian countries (The current territories of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) to read for this event, if you are interested, please email your original poem or your selected poem to info@wsisc.com.
