Enter Now for the 2020 Discover Canada Contest

Canadian Officials want Canadians to travel local this summer, with the federal tourism marketing agency Destination Canada pledging $30 million to help Canadians "discover their own back yard." The funds will promote vacationing within Canada as the pandemic effectively halts travel abroad. Ottawa is also earmarking roughly $40 million to pour into tourism agencies in parts of Ontario and western Canada. With heavy job cuts plaguing the entire tourism industry, the idea "is to save the summer," said Economic Development Minister Mélanie Joly.
